Good work, sportsbook, as I got taken for a ride yesterday with a few tough and close losses. Thanks to the Thunder and Heat for not showing up. Onwards and upwards to NHL betting and NBA betting today:
NBA betting: Indiana Pacers @ Sacramento Kings
Sportsbook odds: Pacers -2.5
My god. Pick your poison here. Fine, I will! I’ll take the Kings at home mostly because they are at home. The Indiana Pacers are a bad team themselves and I’m not laying points on the road with them anywhere, especially if Danny Granger is out. I’ll give the Kings a shot at home.

NBA betting: Memphis Grizzlies @ Los Angeles Lakers
Sportsbook odds: Lakers -15.5
The Lakers are laying a huge number tonight and that number is so big because they are coming off a loss to the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers were upended on Sunday on National television, which is why a lot of people feel they’ll bounce-back easily. I’ll take a shot with the Grizzlies to keep it somewhat respectable.

NHL betting: Los Angeles Kings @ Columbus Blue Jackets
Sportsbook odds: Blue Jackets -165
The Los Angeles Kings have been terrible all season long and they are in a pretty serious funk right now. They have won just twice in their last 10 games. The Columbus Blue Jackets are now a decent team and although in the past I wouldn’t be comfortable laying this huge number, this is now a playoff team who should be able to take care of business at home.

Not bad with a 3-0 night on the sports betting card! Let’s keep it rolling with some more NBA betting tonight. I’ll keep it simple with a two-game teaser:
Milwaukee Bucks @ New Orleans Hornets
NBA betting odds: Hornets -9.5
Bucks on the road = me not backing them. I think this looks like a teaser play – the Hornets are hard to trust at home with a big number on their plate but they should win this game. The Bucks are hapless. They are solid on defense but they are overmatched on most nights, especially without Andrew Bogut or Michael Redd in the lineup.

Detroit Pistons @ Orlando Magic
NBA betting odds: Orlando -10
The Detroit Pistons have virtually tapped out. Their amazing team chemistry that carried them to the top fo the Eastern Conference ranks and to an NBA Championship is now gone. Their head coach sucks and their team is squabbling. The Magic are at home and are still adjusting to Rafer Alston, but are the better team here and should get the win.

Wednesday Night Sports Betting Picks

It’s time for some more NBA betting as the sportsbook card for Wednesday is too enticing to pass up. I went 3-1 last night so I’ll try to ride that hot streak as long as I can.
NBA betting: Philadelphia 76ers @ Washington Wizards
Sportsbook odds: 76ers -4.5
The 76ers are off a heartbreaking loss ot the New Jersey Nets a few days ago when Devin Harris hit a last second game-winner. The general expectation is that they will bounce-back but it’s hard to lay 4.5 points on the road with the 76ers.

NBA betting: Chicago Bulls @ New Jersey Nets
Sportsbook odds: Nets -1.5
The new-look Bulls thrived last night so why not ride it out some more? The Nets are one of the few teams in the NBA that don’t have a very good home-court advantage so the Bulls should be capable of an upset win.

NBA betting: Orlando Magic @ New York Knicks
Sportsbook odds: Magic -2.5
The New York Knicks have found their identity and while the pieces are not in place, they are getting better daily. The Magic are still adjusting to life without Jameer Nelson and back-to-back nights as a road favorite is not the cure.

NBA betting: Detroit Pistons @ New Orleans Hornets
Sportsbook odds: Hornets -8.5
The Pistons are a mess but the Hornets can’t usually be trusted to stomp on a bad team at home. I’ll give them another chance tonight.

NBA betting: Utah Jazz @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Sportsbook odds: Jazz -6.5
The Timberwolves are just hapless without Al Jefferson while the Jazz are streaking and finally healthy.
