Former Chicago Bear and current Minnesota Viking, Bobby Wade, thinks that his former team will choke one way or another. That’s funny, because his current team, the Vikings, choked away a division-clinching opportunity on Sunday.

The Bears host the Packers on Monday Night Football this week, which is always a bitter rivalry game. Sportsbook odds have the Bears favored by four points, mostly because the Bears need this win.

The Bears need to win out and hope for the Vikings to lose their regular season finale to get into the playoffs. Good luck with that. This Packers vs Bears matchup screams upset but the Vikings are still winning the division and the Bears are not.

The Chicago Bears still have an outside chance to make the playoffs. They need to win their final two games against the Green Bay Packers and the Houston Texans, and they need the Minnesota Vikings to lose at least one of their final two games. Sportsbook odds have the Bears favored this week against the Packers and they’ll probably a slight favorite in Houston against the Texans. Meanwhile, the Vikings might hold up their end of the bargain for the Bears as they play host to the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Giants, two playoff teams. Even so, sportsboook odds will likely have the Vikings favored in both games.

But first thing is first: there’s a Packers vs Bears matchup on Monday Night Football.

Packers vs Bears betting is going to be one-sided. Not many people have faith in the Packers anymore after they have mailed it in over the last couple of games. After a loss in Jacksonville, not many people will believe that they’ll have a chance against the desperate Bears this Monday.

The problem for the Packers is that they don’t stop the run at all and the Bears run the ball very well. That will lead to another one for the blue, red and white guys in this Bears vs Packers matchup.

Hurray, it’s time for Monday Night Football, sports book odds and Faith Hill’s atrocious opening song to Monday Night Football.

Is there anything else to do? Transporter 3? Quantum of Solace?

Tonight’s featured game is the 4-7 Jacksonville Jaguars and the 4-7 Houston Texans.

Not to worry – some sports betting makes a relatively boring game far more interesting.

The guys (Stan Simmons) from The Betting Edge at BetOnline.com have done a writeup to save me the work. Here are the details for the Jaguars vs Texans odds matchup.

I’ll bet the Jags just for kicks.

Monday Night Betting

November 10, 2008

Yes, I’m in that mood like the guy in those ESPN Monday Night Football commercials who can’t wait for Monday Night Football odds.

For the game, I’m not sure whether I would want to lay so many points with my sportsbook, though. Ten points is a lot and San Francisco is off of a bye week. Does a bye week mean anything? (See: Carolina, New Orleans and San Diego).

How about a teaser? Maybe tease down Arizona to 2.5 but tease it with what?

I like the Indiana Pacers in basketball betting – I don’t have much faith in Oklahoma City on back-to-back nights.

I also like Duke minus the points, which is a huge spread at about 36.5. But that’s what I’m teasing with Arizona. Arizona -2.5 and Duke -30.5 – Presbyterian is an awful team.
