Watching this video, the only thing that really comes to mind after the whole “holy crap this guy is surfing the same wave from the movie Poseidon” is does he survive?

How can you possibly shoot this video and not have the guy’s reaction/cheering/survival shot?

That’s like a skydiver jumping from the world record height, but not showing everyone whether he landed or not.

This is a prime example why surfing needs to add instant replay.

White Men Can Jump!

July 17, 2008

So what have you been up to lately? Chillin’? Watching Big Brother 10? Patting yourself on the back more than this guy?

Safe to say that freestyle motocross superstar Ronnie Renner has been a little more productive than you. And pretty much all of us. Last Friday, he jumped a 59 feet 2 inches high and set a new world record:

Surprisingly, Renner didn’t effusively thank god immediately after landing the jump.

“Everything was absolutely perfect tonight,” said Renner. “I’m totally blown away that I went over 59 feet. Hopefully my Red Bull Experiment was the baddest one ever; it’s a great series and I’m glad I’m a part of it. I just really can’t believe so many fans came out to support me.”

Who was it that said white men can’t jump? Just curious, but what would happen if you used a different race in that statement other than Caucasian, but I digress.

Renner now holds the record for “highest air”. Good thing he landed it and didn’t end up like this guy:
