Climbing Traffic Light Poles Never Works Out Well
October 30, 2008
I know you’re done your World Series odds and you’ve moved on to NHL betting, NASCAR odds or the Texas vs Texas Tech spread, but here’s one last video before we let the World Series go.
Here’s how one Philly fan made a fool of himself celebrated last night:
I guess if there is a where it is acceptable to act somewhat crazy, last night was one. Congratulations Phillies on winning your city’s first championship in 25 years!
Update: Rays-Phillies Betting
October 28, 2008
By now you all know that the World Series odds are off the board because Bud Selig suspended the Rays-Phillies game yesterday. But what about for those who bet the Rays-Phillies – what’s the result?
The original sentiment would be that you would pushl, since the game pushed, but that’s not the official sportsbook rule.
Here is the rule below:
“Moneyline wagers are considered official after five complete innings or 4 1/2 innings if the home team is winning. Therefore, if a game is called or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie or take the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called.”

So for those of you that bet the Phillies, congratulations. You won your bet. For everyone who bet the Rays, you probably feel like you got screwed.
That’s why it’s important to know all your sportsbook rules before you get involved. Make sure you do your homework before you bet online. These types of situations are rare but in this case, it’s still the difference between winning and losing for online betting sharps, so make sure you do your due dilligence and don’t get caught with your pants down.
What Sports I’m Betting On This Weekend
October 24, 2008
LSU is a dangerous opponent, but Georgia is just a little bit better at the skill positions (quarterback, running back wide receiver).
Pick: Bet on Georgia
OK State is a nice team and they are capable of pulling the upset. The question is can Texas play with the same intensity as they played with against Oklahoma and Missouri.
Pick: Bet on Oklahoma State
Penn State vs Ohio State odds:
Penn State vs Ohio State is essentially the Big 10 Championship. I’ll lean with the home team.
Pick: Bet Ohio State
The Giants lost in the AFC North just two weeks ago. It will happen again this week.
Pick: Bet on Steelers
Colts are desperate for a win but they might not be good enough to defeat an undefeated team. The Titans should be able to run wild on the flimsy Colts defense.
Pick: Bet on Titans
Chargers vs Saints in Londontown – Chargers need this game more – and their the better team.
Pick: Bet on Chargers

Phillies may have snaked home-field advantage but their bats are still quiet. Take the Rays on the series.
Pick: Bet on Rays
Carl Edwards is the favorite? No thanks, I’ll take Jimmie Johnson.
Pick: Bet on NASCAR odds
Roy Jones Jr vs Joe Calzaghe odds:
Roy Jones Jr. is washed up. He’s about to get his ass handed to him.
Pick: Bet on Joe Calzaghe
Cote can punch, so Silva has to be careful. If he is careful, though, then Cote doesn’t stand much of a chance to last through two rounds.
Pick: Bet on Silva
One Game Down, Who Do You Like To Win The World Series?
October 2, 2008
So the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels – the two favorites to win each League – lost their opening game of the playoffs. Are you panicking yet or are you sticking with your World Series picks?
It’s only a five-game series, which means that if you don’t bring your A game, you’ll watching on TV like the rest of us real quick. The Angels and Cubs have already given up home-field advantage.

While I’m concerned about the Cubs, because they do this whenever they get to October, I’m less concerned about the Angels, who had opportunities yesterday but were just victims of sharp defense.
My World Series picks are Boston-Los Angeles, how does that sound?
